What are the major differences between the Kokani spoken in Kerala and that in Goa?

Konkani is basically a mixture of several ancient languages. It is believed that the Konkan people were driven Southwards from their North Indian habitat during the Mughal invasion. Some settled in Maharashtra ( Mumbai and Ratnagiri) , some went further South to Goa and Karnataka (Mangalore and the Karwar coast) and some still further South, to Kerala. Over the centuries, Konkani has had regional dialect influences both in terms of vocabulary and accent. The Konkani spoken in Kerala has a lot of Malayalam words in it, the Ratnagiri Konkani sounds like Marathi and is heavily interspersed with Marathi words and so too the Konkani spoken in Karnataka- it has many Kannada words. Therefore there is nothing like pure and correct Konkani.
