How is UCLA's music preforming arts for up to date type of Vocal Musicians?

Is UCLA vocal music departments all like Oprah and bigg broadway numbers or do they some times incorporate up to date type of music. Because i am a singer and due to my back ground i am more faun to singing R&B and soul gossip stuff like that so ii don't know if i would fit in to program like there? :-{
