Some where like Goa in the old days?

Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to visit Goa due its open air Psychedellic and Goa Trance parties. But these days I always hear that Goa is not the place it was in the old days.. The Police is always busting up the parties and it has turned into a complete tourist resort. Is this true? And if its true do you know any places like Goa in the old days? I want to live in a place like that which there are 24/7 psytrance party, chilled people and some where very cheap to live. I at least want to live there 2 to 5 years and possibly make a living..
