Things to do in downtown Chicago at night for 16 year olds?

my frieds birthday is coming up soon an I want to surprise her with something fun and unexpected. I thought we could get a hotel room for the night and have people come to the room and do our hair and makeup then we could go to dinner at bandera (obviously my parents are paying for all of this, LOL) what is something else we could do at night besides shopping? maybe a broadway show or is there a movie premiere or something? thanks for the help!
