Can you use Oyster & paper travel cards on Heathrow Connect trains?

I have to go from Paddington to Ealing Broadway and the Heathrow Connect train is the train TFL says to catch.. I'm going with my mate who will have a paper travel card and I'll be using my oyster. Is it allowed on this service?
